The largest annual electronic music festival in the world—Tomorrowland—is less than two weeks away. From Friday, July 24 through Sunday, July 26, the best and most well-known artists in the electronic music genre will perform in Boom, Belgium in front of over 400,000 fans at Schorre Recreation Area.
According to ticket marketplace viagogo.com, Tomorrowland tickets currently start at $528 for a three-day, “Full Madness” pass. A “Glorious Sunday” pass is currently the cheapest ticket available, starting at $384. The “Incredible Saturday” passes start at $504, the highest get-in price for any of the individual day passes. ”Magical Friday” passes currently start at $385.
On July 24, performers such as Avicii, Alesso, David Guetta, Carl Cox, Steve Aoki, Dubfire and others who have topped the charts will grace the stages. The events on July 25 include the likes of Armin van Buuren (who performed in the inaugural festival in 2005), Martin Garrix, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Hardwell, Axwell & Ingrosso. To conclude the performances, Dave Clarke, Robin Schulz, Tiesto, Bingo Players, Bob Sinclar, Fedde Le Grand and more will close down the festival with a bang.
Tomorrowland was organized in 2005 and has been growing ever since. In 2008, the festival exceeded over 100 DJs for the first time. After it’s growing success, the festival had to expand to three days in 2011 and had over 180,000 fans attend the multiple days of events. The 2011 festival was voted the best in the world at the International Dance Music Awards in 2012. Since then, it has won the same award two more times, making it three consecutive years of earning the award.
The 10th anniversary of the festival was in 2014, and was held over two weekends for the first time. Even MTV, an American music entertaining television station produced a documentary on the 10-year anniversary of the festival. It was a worldwide party, and no longer belonged to Belgium. As already mentioned, over 400,000 people attended the world’s largest party in 2014 and this year’s shows can expect to top that.
Tomorrowland began having a festival in the United States in 2013, named TomorrowWorld. Over 140,000 people showed up to Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia, which really proves the staying power this event has. In 2014, Tomorrowland announced they would hold a festival in Brazil, which just had its inaugural festival this past weekend during May 1 through May 3.
